I am a marine ecologist fascinated by the processes that shape ecosystems and their functions. My work blends ecological theory with hands-on empirical research to better understand how threatened marine ecosystems operate and respond to anthropogenic change. I study a diverse range of organisms, from small symbiotic species to habitat-forming plants and large marine animals, including apex predators.
While my research is largely field-based, I also use laboratory experiments and quantitative models to explore ecosystem dynamics more deeply. Ultimately, I aim to translate ecological insight into more effective conservation, management, and restoration of marine ecosystems.
Outside of research, I am passionate about the outdoors and especially enjoy long adventures in the mountains.
